Michael has been surfing since he was 9 yrs old  and teaching
surfing since he was 18.  He has surfed most hurricanes that have
traveled the eastern seaboard. He  has surfed from Rhode Island
to Florida and from California to as far as Hawaii's 
North Shore for big winter surf.  Michael  also lectures for the
Ocean County Library system about surfing and surf safety as
well as for many other organizations.  He has won many a surf contest
in both  Long & Shortboard divisions.  Michael is a co owner in two
surf shops as well as the owner of Matador Surfboards.  He
prides himself in having one of the best surf schools around and
also runs the surf program at St Francis Youth Center LBI along
with being the proud dad of two girls.

 

 

Caroline Unger

Years Surfing  32
Years Teaching  10+

Caroline has been an avid surfer for over 3 decades and
has been a strong female competitor since the 1980s.
She surfed for the University of Florida in her colledge
days.  She is also an active EMT and physical Therapist by
day. She is also the author of Surfing Long Beach Island
along with being the mother of two.

Marko Grasso

Marko is a strong local surfer who has made surfing his life.
He has reputation as a full on charger in any kind of surf.
He owns and operates Wave Hog Surf Shop in Ship Bottom
where he shares his love of the sport with others.  He loves to
travel and also loves Hawaii North Shore. 

 

Joe Medica

Years Teaching 3

Joe is a local school teacher and a long time
shipbottom surf local.  He loves surfing
and can be seen riding 7/11 on any good
swell.
